Es posible que desee usar menos sus electrodomésticos porque la compañía de electricidad, Florida Power and Light (más conocida por sus siglas en inglés como FPL), ha propuesto un aumento en sus tarifas para que puedan invertir en energía limpia y barata. Aunque para que eso suceda, la Comisión de Servicios Públicos de Florida tiene que aprobarlo (más conocida por sus siglas en inglés como FPSC).
FPL busca invertir dinero para entrar en el camino de la energía limpia, renovable y asequible. Se trata de una inversión a largo plazo que, según asegura la empresa, ayudará a reducir los costes para todos los ciudadanos, por lo que podría ser una forma rentable de mantener las facturas lo más bajas posible (claro, este beneficio sería a largo plazo).

As you can see, this is the midway point in FPL’s process to start increasing its rates and prices. The utility company has the main objective of raise your rates gradually over the next 4 years. In other words, you’ll be paying an extra $18 per month. Next year alone, you should expect to pay an extra $10.5 per month! Then, the next step will be a technical hearing in August, which works as a normal court case with witnesses and testimony. As FPL is a highly regulated utility company here, all aspects of this process are going through the FPSC. If the plan to raise their fees is approved, it would start from January 2022.
